Balancing Pranayama, Vedic Chanting & Devotional Kirtan

Each morning of our Autumn Bhakti Yin Program is dedicated to the more subtle balancing and introverting pranayama practices, and will focus on gentle breath elongation, suspensions and refinement of the breath, leading into Japa meditations.

Chanting has the incredible benefit of calming, aligning o& cultivating our minds, as well as stimulating our throat centre and elongating our exhalation, which brings us back into parasympathetic 'rest and digest' state.

The evenings are dedicated to learning and chanting 108 rounds of powerful Vedic mantra around the Havan followed by devotional kirtan for the purification of our minds, cultivation of wholesome qualities, inner resources and building connection to that which is beyond our limited Self. Through repetition, you will absorb the spirit of Mantra into your daily life and experience its profound benefits that help you stay connected to that which is true and whole.

Restorative Yin Yoga Practices

The physical approach of our Autumn Bhakti Program is centered on entering into supported, long held, passive postures that bring a deeper release of the muscles and connective tissues of the body, as well as a release and re-alignment of the energetic, mental and emotional tensions stored in the body and organs.

In a Yin practice, you will:

- Learn what it means to find your edge,
- Drop into stillness
- Remain for time
- Cultivating the state of mindfulness
- Begin to understand your emotions
- Develop wholesome supportive attitudes
- Release and transform old patterns and stored impressions.

Yin Yoga can feel challenging at first and can be met with a lot of mental resistance, but it has immense benefit for those with a predisposition for stress, agitation, restlessness and held tension and those who are super active and always on the go. Yin is your ticket to the parasympathetic switch, teaching you vital tools to reduce gear and slow down.

Bhakti Yoga Philosophy & Myofascial Roll & Release Workshops

Our Mind Wellness workshops will touch upon key topics of devotion, what it entails and why its spiritually important according to Yogic philosophy. We will also learn the meaning and pronunciation of Various Vedic Mantras.

The body wellness workshops of this restorative week is a deep dive into the myofascial trains and meridians. Students will massage their way through their fascial trains and feel into some juicy pressure points.

Together we will review where the subtle energy meridians from Traditional Chinese medicine, fall into the fascial trains and discuss what emotions are associated with certain organs and meridian lines.

Body Wellness Workshops include:
- Deep Front Line, Kidney meridian and fear
- Superficial back line, bladder meridian
- Superficial Front line, Stomach meridian and Stress
- Lateral & Spiral lines, Gallbladder meridian and anger
- Arm lines, heart & lung meridian, Joy & depression.

Having only ever practiced Yin a handful of times I was incredibly taken to a whole new dimension and understanding of yoga. Yan’s calm, informative, gentle, approach was something that I’ll always remember, she also has the most incredible knowledge of the human body and the mechanics of it. Her teaching method is wonderful, she is full of wisdom and has a beautiful spiritual deep love for sharing all her knowledge and experiences to her students.
