Radical Breath Recovery
Each morning of our Spring Jnana Program is dedicated to powerful breath restoring practices that are effective and easy to remember and take home.
Our intention is to give our guests and students knowledge of how the breath works anatomically, energetically and mentally and emotionally and to give them all the tools to recover a stressed tight and restricted breath safely and effectively.
Our evening practices will be filled with guided relaxation, meditations, body scans & yoga nidra.
Gentle Somatic Therapeutic Movement
The movement approach of our Spring Program is geared towards
- restoring mind body connection,
- deepening sensory awareness
- freeing, loosening and mobilizing tissues
- re-storing muscles length & function
- releasing mental emotion compression
- releasing stored trauma
We move incredibly slowly and somatically part by part with isolated movements through the body, like a moving meditation, as if knitting the pieces back together again. The focus is on neuro-muscular re-education, a vital step in restoring functional balance to the body.
Self Enquiry & Inner wisdom
The mind and body focus of the workshops in this therapeutic week is aimed at exploring our 'self' and all our multi-dimensional layers, including:
- Introduction to Yoga philosophy
- Jnana Yoga & Meaning to Self Enquiry
- The Yogic perspective of Self
- The Gunas
- The Five Koshas (Sheaths)
- Locomotor tissues and the different movement practices necessary for their upkeep
- Bone and Joint wisdom
- in Depth Biomechanics of Breathing
- Spine and Postural Anatomy
- the Nervous system, Stress & Trauma
- Somatic trauma healing skills.
“I used to be a sportive person but due to my studies and job I had to discontinue my trainings, so developed some back aches and lost a lot of my flexibility. It was not the first contact for me with yoga but I thought I would benefit from learning it properly, and so I did! Yan is a really sweet and welcoming person. It made me feel like we had known each other for longer time. Her explanations came natural, and she was able to make me understand every single step during the learning journey. Every session was personalized and adapted to my situation and body condition. She helped me to reach a better version of myself not only physically through yoga, but also mentally through meditation.”
